Clean gutters and extend downspouts

Clogged gutters dump water at the foundation. Downspouts should release water at least 5 to 10 ft from the house.

How to do it

Step by step

  1. Scoop debris into a bucket, working away from the downspout.
  2. Flush each run with a hose and watch for leaks at seams.
  3. Clear downspouts from the bottom up.
  4. Reseal leaking seams, add hangers where it sags, and attach extensions.
